So Close We Can Almost Taste It [blog]
(May 11, 2012)
As the title may suggest to you, we are quickly approaching our official first day of tours. This is a very exciting time as the bookings continue to come in for our Spring and Summer www.calgarywalks.com. We still have spots open for our first day of tours, May 21st, at both the 10:30am and 1:30pm, which you can book here.
In addition to new bookings, we have had a number of inquiries from individuals curious if they need to book a tour or if they can just show up.
While we’d simply like to say that anyone can show up anytime and we’ll take you for a tour, CalgaryWalks kindly requires anyone interested in taking a tour to book ahead via this form.
This is for two reasons:
1. We don’t want to have to turn anyone away.
Unless you specifically book a group tour (in which case we can plan extra guides), we cannot accommodate more than 8 individuals for our scheduled tours. We’d love to, but we want to ensure an equally engaging and amazing experience for all, which would get a lot more difficult if we have too many people show up unannounced and unplanned for. To avoid too many people showing up at once, and thus risking the possibility of not enough guides for the entire group, we require you to book ahead. We don’t want our guides to have to yell so that everyone can hear them, it’s just not in their nature. Again, we do welcome group bookings in advance.
2. We don’t want you to show up and no one is there.
Since we currently offer so many tour times, we realize that there is a possibility of certain dates and times will be more popular than others, and some may be less popular. If we find that no one is interested in a particular date/time, we reserve the right not to run a tour at that time. In the case that we have removed a time, we would hate for someone not to have realized it and simply show up, only to find no one else there. Of course, we will always keep you notified of any changes and updates through our website, Twitter feed, and and Facebook.
In short, we very much appreciate (and gently require) pre-bookings. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about this or anything else.
We look forward to hopefully seeing you soon.
